Red Yeast Rice (RYR) Extract is the bright red fermented rice used in Asian cuisines and in traditional Chinese medicine to invigorate the body and blood and aid digestion since 800 AD. RYR is created when Monascus purpureus, a red-colored yeast grows on rice. The extract contains nine different monacolins that inhibit cholesterol biosynthesis in liver cells. Monacolin K is identical to lovastatin, a patented cholesterol-lowering drug. These monacolins work with the other bioactive compounds also found in RYR extract such as isoflavones to support normal innate cholesterol levels.

CoQ10 is a vitamin-like substance required for energy production in the heart and all mitochondrial-containing cells. It helps support healthy HDL, LDL and total cholesterol values and is produced in the body. The monacolins in RYR deplete its levels so our formulation includes a base amount to preserve natural levels and provide its heart-healthy antioxidant benefits.

Green Tea extract is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory with many researched health benefits specifically by favorably influencing normal cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Animal studies suggest that green tea extracts may help lower plasma cholesterol by decreasing cholesterol synthesis and hampering the liver’s production of LDL.
